Larry Eugene Edwards Sr., born in August 1955 in the great city of Tampa, Florida, was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. His life was filled with love and devotion to his family and friends. Larry was known for his outgoing personality and his willingness to help anyone in need. Throughout his life, he touched many people with his kindness, generosity, and caring spirit.
Larry was devoted to God and was raised in the church from an early age. He graduated from King High School as part of the Class of 1973. Over the years, he worked many jobs to support his family, including work at the mine Ranchez Refinery, and the Tampa Sewage Plant. He was also a proud member of Union Local 1707.
Larry made a lasting impression on everyone he met and touched many lives in meaningful ways.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Edwards Sr. and Rosa B. Edwards, and his brothers, Johnny Edwards, Freddie Edwards, and Roy Edwards.
He leaves to cherish his very close and devoted friend, Shirlene Edwards; his sons, Larry Edwards Jr., Johnny Edwards (Georgette), and Josiah Edwards; and his daughter, Sadie Johns (Akilies). He is also survived by his brothers, Willie Edwards Sr. and Lonnie Camel; and his sisters, Rosemary Buchanan and Dolores Edwards Miller (Rollie).
Larry’s legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Jonshea, Jokobe, Jaiden Edwards, and Akailah Johns.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Sarah Edwards, Alethia Pudden Mahan, Lynette Edwards, Gloria Hearns, Evelyn Andrews, and Grace Williams, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends and extended family whose lives were touched by his love and generosity.
