“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8
Justin Lamar Gutter, 34, passed away leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and friendship. Born to Judy Taylor and George Gutter Jr., Justin was known as a gentle giant whose kindness and warm spirit touched everyone he met.
A graduate of TR Robinson High School, Justin continued his education in Computer Graphic Design and earned two welding degrees. He was a devoted member of Southside Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Nance and First Lady Amy.
Justin never met a stranger and had a special gift for making friends wherever he went. He loved spending time with family and traveling home to Mississippi to be with his cousins.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, God sent his loving angel to Tampa, Fl and Justin answered his master’s call.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, George Gutter Jr. and Judy Taylor; Godparents, Frank and Linda Wilkins; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents George Gutter Sr. and Neely M. Parker Gutter and his maternal grandparents Oscar James and Alice Taylor and his aunt, Laurine Gutter Jackson.
Forever Loved. Forever Missed. Forever Remembered.

Justin is a good friend and awesome union brother and has a great big heart. You have my condolences and I pray God comforts your hearts at this time. Remember to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May God grant you peace at this time and comfort you knowing he went to be with his father in heaven.

Justin was my mentor/journeyman while I was in the Union.
I worked with him for most of the year that I was with Ackerman. He taught me so much, and he always made my days fun. When they separated us, I’d go looking for him on my spare time to talk and laugh with.
I remember following him around like a little puppy until I was comfortable working by myself and with others. Our commute to work was long but during those times we learned about each other. He’d bring me candies some mornings (nerd clusters) and I always thought it was funny the way he’d just walk up with snacks. When I’ll miss those moments.
He was a great friend and he will be deeply missed by me. ❤️
