Bernard Snead was born in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Eugene Snead and Adell Snead.
Bernard was a hardworking man who dedicated approximately 35 years to setting up and working with mobile homes. Through his experience, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit, he became the founder and owner of Snead Transport & Setup.
Bernard believed in giving back to his community and spent many years volunteering with the State and County Fair. When he was not working or volunteering, he enjoyed fishing, trapping wild game, and using his hands to help others. Bernard was known as a true handyman. To those who knew him, it often seemed there was nothing he could not fix.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Adell Snead; sisters, Janice Snead and Loretha McWhite; brothers, Sam Snead Jr. and Kenneth Snead; and grandson, Bernard Snead III.
He leaves to cherish his memory a brother Norris Snead(Kathy), his seven sons, Bernard Jr., Rosco (Markesha), Corey (Tamara), Eric (Kenya), Anthony Sr. (Shanteja), Ryan, and Aaron; a special daughter of the heart, Britney Newell; and his grandchildren, Antonio, Tyree, Tiyah, Dequavius, Eric Jr., Coreyona, Jakhari, Kentre, Kyree, ZaeQuan, Ryan Jr., Ryanna, Noble, Loyal, Kye, Amir, Janiah, A’Layah, Olivia, Tinijah, Ayden, Savannah, Bobby, Cameron, Zarya, Ryon , A’Enyce , Railyn , Raniya, Anthony Jr , and Shanora.
He also leaves to cherish his memory his great-grandchildren, Tavion, Edward, Jaceion, Zariah, Cameron, Kaleigh, Camila, Khalia , his godbrother, Dr. Darnell Cole; his godsister, Missionary Angela Anderson; along with a host of other relatives, friends, loved ones, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Bernard’s life was one of hard work, service, family, and helping others. His ability to build, repair, and solve almost any problem was more than a skill, it was one of the many ways he cared for the people around him. His memory and legacy will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
