In Loving Memory of Audrey Ann Couchman
Audrey Ann Couchman, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 12, 2026, to be with the Lord. She was born on August 15, 1962, in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, Jamaica. Early in life, Audrey trusted in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She attended Ocho Rios Baptist Church and was also a member of the Ocho Rios Baptist Chorale. Audrey was a prayer warrior and a woman of faith who experienced several miracles in her life.
She studied at Jamaica Theological Seminary in Kingston, Jamaica, Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Trinity College of Florida. She later pursued graduate studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. After moving to Florida, Audrey served for a time as a guidance counselor, where she enjoyed encouraging and supporting students.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Ruby and Lester Forbes. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Marcos Couchman; her sons, Chad, Judd, Jamie, and Joel; and her daughter, Johanna. She is also survived by her sisters, Paula, Paulette, Merna, and June, and her brothers, Trevor, Sebert, Reverend Derrick Forbes, and Reverend Noel Forbes, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Her children, Chad, Judd, Jamie, Joel, and Johanna, remember their mother as a woman who taught them to help others, give generously, pray faithfully, and treat people with warmth and understanding. She was a woman of few words, but her words carried weight, quiet, yet powerful. She taught them never to mistake quietness for weakness and to live with faith, humor, and humanity.
Her husband, Marcos, remembers her this way: “She was my beloved wife for 38 years, a woman of great faith and full of wisdom, from whom I received invaluable counsel and advice. She always treated people with dignity and respect and will be truly missed.”

I am still in a state of shock, as my friend of over 50 years has left me suddenly. Audrey and her wonderful husband Marcus welcomed me from the UK to their home in Florida in 1996. I loved the dynamics between their children Chad, Judd, Jamie, Joel and the long awaited girl the beautiful Johanna, and themselves, truly a beautiful family, Audrey was also instrumental in connecting me and my late husband Errold, hence the reason she’s so dear to me.
“Well done thy good and faithful servant” Go to your eternal rest. 🙏🏽 May the good lord continue to comfort Marcus, the children and the entire family.

Audrey will certainly be missed. Her quiet, gentle demeanor, easy smile and chuckle, and the rich alto of her singing, are all fondly remembered. Her contribution to the musical excellence that was the Ocho Rios Baptist Chorale 1979 – 1985, was steady and committed. News of her passing was a shock, tempered by the sure and certain knowledge that being absent from us, she is in the presence of the Saviour whom she loved and served faithfully. Condolence, prayers, and best wishes to her husband, children and all her siblings who remain dear and remembered at this time. Even at the grave, we make our song, Alleluia, Alleluia, ALLELUIA!!!

My sincere condolence to the family of our dear Audrey. I had the privilege of speaking to Audrey in June of this year. We had a long conversation and spoke of our days as young people, growing up together in the Ocho Rios Baptist Chorale. I admired Audrey as she always carry herself in a very dignified manner. She was so soft spoken and approachable. I also tried to sing alto and felt like I could because I was standing in the alto line with Audrey and the other wonderful alto singers.
Rest in peace my friend. I know you will be singing with the angles. You are just gone ahead of us, we will meet again.

Audrey was my dear friend and an inspiration. Her gentleness, humility and quiet strength have graced many of our conversations even when we disagree and her humor has calmed many a tense moments. During our last conversation we talked about our favorite topic, our awesome, gracious and amazing Savior. Audrey you will be missed but our grief is tempered by the conviction that you are in His presence and we will see you again. You have left behind a legacy of grace, beauty, generosity and love and your wonderful family who I have no doubt will continue to expand your legacy throughout their lives. Rest in peace my wonderful friend.

Audrey was such an amazing woman who walked in grace and beauty. I only had a few conversations with her, but I could tell by the influence she had on her husband, Marcos, and five wonderful children that she loved and served the Lord with her whole being. “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” Prov. 31:28-30.

I was privileged to speak to Audrey in June of this year. We had a long and meaningful conversation. We spoke of our youthful days as members of the Ocho Rios Baptist Chorale. It was my pleasure to stand in the alto line with Audrey and the other wonderful alto singers, it made me sound like I could sing.
I admired Audrey during those good old days, she carried herself in a dignified classy manner. She was very soft spoken and approachable.

I still remember that Yhirsday when, accompanied by a friend, we travelled to Ocho Rios by bus, and visited Aidrey at her home. Everything was done spontaneously, the trip, visiting Audrey, and touring Carinosa Gardens with he.
What my friend and I did not realize was that this was all God orchestrated, as the visit unbeknownst to us, encouraged Audrey to return to JTS for her final year, where she and Marcos got married upon completion of studies.
Audrey was a dedicated servant of Christ, devvoted wife and mother, and a true friend. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she has entered her rest with Jesus.

I got the message last week, but I couldn’t comprehend until now. I knew Audrey from Ocho Rios Primary and Secondary School classes. We used to sing on the Baptist youth Choir as well. What a wonderful set of Christian ✝️ people to grow up with. I’m in shock of her passing. Recently we have been corresponding and reminiscing on the good old days. She would come up with some names of our class mates over the years that I had forgotten about what fun we had talking. As Christians we know we can celebrate her life and know that she is in a better with the Lord.

To Marcos and the children and the rest of the family and friends it is at this time that we say ‘Lord we do not thy purpose see but all is well when done by thee.’ There are no words to express our feelings at this time. God gave us the privilege of sharing our lives with Audrey and Audrey sharing her life with us. We grew up together and though we were from different families,we lived and loved each other as sisters and brother. We laughed, we cried, we ate, we sang, we prayed, we worked, we worshipped together and so much more. But now he has called her to himself and we await our reunion with her . We praise God for her life and witness knowing full well that not eve death can separate her from his love. My continued prayers be with you all.
