Robert “Rob Smitty” Smith was born on July 22, 1985, in Hillsborough County, Florida, and departed this life on July 26, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. A proud native of Hillsborough County, Robert carried a deep love for his hometown, his family, and the community that helped shape the man he became.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Smith II; his grandparents, Doris and Clifton Black; his great-grandparents, Clifford and Bloneva Black; his great-grandmother, Unice Frazier; his great-grandmother, Wilhelmina Smith; his great-grandfather, Robert Smith Sr.; his aunt, Yvonne Barker-Smith; and his brother, Roderick Singerton-Smith.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving mother, Evangeline Black; his father, Robert Smith III; and his beloved daughters, Nyla Butler and Robertleshia Smith-McNear. He is also survived by his devoted siblings: brothers, Jamar Smith (Neisha) and Dontray Smith; and sisters, Keshaundra Smith (Chris), Rakia Smith, and Kesha Williams. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Mattie Smith; his bonus grandfather, James Williams; and his great-aunt, Retha Wilson (Albert). Robert also leaves to cherish his memory his aunts, Regina Black, Deanna Black (Richard), and Tanya Black-Bryant; and his uncles, Clifton Black (Elizabeth), Christopher Black (Tina), and Evelio Smith.
Though Robert’s time on earth was far too brief, his life was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful relationships. His warm spirit, unforgettable smile, and the countless memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his immediate family, Robert’s life touched the hearts of countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love, laughter, and joy he shared.
