Paulette, a soft spoken and kindhearted woman whose warmth touched everyone she met, peacefully passed from this earth on May19th, 2026.
Paulette Owens was born December 21, 1953, in Fort Myers, Florida, to James and Luretha Owens. She attended the Collier County Public School’s system in Immokalee Florida, where she lived until she moved to Tampa. She lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and strength. Paulette was known for her gentle spirit, caring nature, and the way she made others feel comforted and valued. Whether it was her kind words, or a listening ear, Paulette brought peace and love to everyone around her. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she cherished her family dearly.
Paulette enjoyed dancing. Every time she heard music, partner or not, she was on the dance floor. She was known as momma by not only her children and grandchildren, but by all who came to know the love and kindness she displayed.
Preceding her in death, life partner, Golden Mingo, one son, Gregory Mingo, grand-daughter Edyonna Sheridan, her mother and father, Luretha Byrd Owens and James Owens, two sisters, Linda Owens and Christine Owens, and three brothers, James Ford, Eddie Louis Crosby, and Willie Louis Owens.
She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories, special friend, William (Bill) Marrion, one daughter, Belle Owens (Londari Trice) of Tampa Fl, Five grandchildren, Jamel Owens, Rekira Owens, Edlenna Sheridan, Edward Sheridan Jr., and Jasmine Davis, all of Tampa Florida, five great grandchildren, Tyler Howard, Nykai Jackson, Paris Sheridan, Ja`Nori Sheridan, and Isiah Burke. Five brothers, Bernard Owens (Louise), Lake City Fl., Calvin Owens, Lehigh Acres, FL., Freddie Owens, Sebring Fl., James Anthony Owens, Lehigh Acres, Fl., and Josh Robinson, Lehigh Acres, FL., her special extended family, the Mingo family, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Paulette was fairly quiet in nature, but she leaves a legacy of kindness, grace, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
